Sharjah Sustainable City, developed by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) in partnership with Diamond Developers, has been awarded the Real Estate Excellence Award for 2022 by the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department (SRERD). This is the third consecutive year that the city has been recognized for its outstanding contributions to Sharjah’s real estate sector.
Yousif Ahmed Al-Mutawa, CEO of Sharjah Sustainable City, expressed his excitement about the recognition and emphasized the city’s commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly living. The government of Sharjah initiated the award to acknowledge exceptional achievements in the real estate sector, encouraging excellence and creativity while boosting investment in this crucial industry.
The numerous awards received by Sharjah Sustainable City in recent years showcase its dedication to sustainability and innovation. The city covers 7.2 million square feet in Sharjah’s Al Rahmaniyah area and serves as a model for sustainable living. It features renewable energy sources, aims to achieve net-zero energy consumption, treats all wastewater for irrigation, maximizes recycling to reduce landfill waste, produces chemical-free greens and vegetables, and promotes walkability and clean mobility. The city includes 1,250 sustainable villas in various sizes and configurations, contributing to making it one of the most preferred places to live in Sharjah.
